COMPUTER
Facts:
Using the Hibernate
setting in Windows
Vista is a great way
to save power and to
close and wake up your
system quickly. And if
you create a Hibernate
shortcut on your
desktop, you can send
your computer to this
semi-sleep state with
the click of a mouse. In
fact, unlike Sleep mode,
when you Hibernate,
there is no energy
consumption at all.
Windows XP:
To put your computer
into Hibernate
mode, click Start,
and then click Turn
off computer. Press
and hold the Shift
key. The label under the
first button changes
from Stand By to
Hibernate. Click
Hibernate.
Reminder: All
computers are to be turned off at
the end of each day. The last
teacher scheduled in the lab is
responsible for making sure all
computers are off. (THANKS)

These bulbs are expensive.
Screensavers
are not energy savers, they continually use
the monitor at full power. They were
originally designed to prevent “burn in" in CTR monitors.
If you have a screensaver running, you are
missing an opportunity to save money, conserve energy
and help the environment.
Here's a work-a-round.
